At Little Star Farm, we believe learning blooms brightest in nature! Our educational field trips—Bloom & Learn and Petals & Play—offer hands-on, age-appropriate experiences designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love for the natural world. Whether students are exploring plant life cycles or engaging in sensory play among the flowers, each visit is rooted in fun, discovery, and connection to the farm.

These experiences are open to children of all abilities. If your group has specific needs, we’re happy to work with you to ensure every child can enjoy their time on the farm.

*When Rutherford County Schools are in session, field trips are only available after school hours or on weekends.
Bloom & Learn
Where learning comes to life in full bloom.
Bring your students or club members to explore the science, beauty, and joy of flower farming in a hands-on, outdoor learning experience designed for all ages.
What’s Included:

Guided tour of the flower fields with interactive Q&A

Flower harvesting demonstration

One flower cup per student to pick their own blooms

Petals & Play
A hands-on farm visit just for little learners!
Designed especially for preschool and early elementary groups, Petals & Play offers a fun and interactive introduction to life on a flower farm. It’s similar to our Bloom & Learn program, but simplified and structured for younger children to explore, imagine, and engage through play.
What’s Included:

Welcome circle + short storytime or farm-themed book

Guided walk through the flower fields with kid-friendly conversation

Simple scavenger hunt or sensory-based activity

Each child selects one flower stem to take home, lovingly wrapped for transport

Access to shaded picnic area (optional snack/lunch time)

One free adult chaperone per 8 children
